Introduction
Hackthorn Church of England Primary School is situated in a small pleasant village 7 miles north of the city of Lincoln, and caters for children between the age of 4 and 11 years.
The School is essentially a village school with a family atmosphere, catering for up to a maximum of 56 children. There are two classrooms, one of which was built in 1998.This classroom is multifunctional also acting as an assembly hall with stage facilities and lighting for school productions. Both classrooms have interactive white boards and access to computers.
There is a very well equipped outdoor learning area featuring a large playhouse, climbing frames and large wheeled toys including tricycles, scooters, prams and push chairs.
A field for sports adjoins the outdoor learning area while a quiet garden area provides a tranquil setting adjacent to the main playground.
The School has completed very successful OFSTED inspections, copies of which are available in School, on the school website and on the official government website.
Ethos Statement
Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level. This partnership influences the atmosphere and character of the whole school.
The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.
